Data Admin Analyst Sr - Richmond VA

Position 1 - Data Admin Analyst Sr - 4 months contract (potential extensions to a year)




Need someone with strong analytical SQL skills (advanced query and reporting knowledge) within SQL Server environments. This is a hybrid DA/BSA position that will work large amounts of data analysis, mostly records matching and manually cleaning up bad data... this person will be heads down most of the time, crunching data records; need someone who could help us streamline process is a big plus. In essence, we need a strong DA with some BSA background.

Responsible for assisting in defining and managing the project requirements for integration projects. Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: Assists in the definition of the functional, usability, reliability, performance and support requirements of a system, and acts as a liaison between the application development and data warehousing team. Assists with system requirements definition, design, testing, training and implementation support. Applies use of tools to define requirements and documentation. Facilitates the identification of potential gaps in available data and collaborates with both teams to determine best means for acquiring the data needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS BA/BS in computer science or information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years experience as a BSA and data analyst Excellent analytical, PC and problem solving skills Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills Excellent Time Management Skills Must be a self-starter and able to hit the ground running Experience in SQL strongly preferred Experience with SQL Server 2005 a plus but not required. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts strongly desired.





Position 2 – Systems/Database Admin (1 year Contract)



Looking for a combo admin and developer with SQL server. Need someone with experience in heavy transactional environment.

This developer position will focus on SQL Server database development as it relates to the HRS suite of databases. Successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of SQL server technology and development language platforms.

Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Designs reporting database for operational reporting system. Performs data analysis, creates requirement documents and designs structures to support a reporting environment.

• Determines Database requirements for projects.

• Partner with the architects to plan and develop solutions.

• May work with business operations to capture metadata to build out data models.

• Work with project teams to plan and execute the quality control process.

• Develops conceptual or general designs, including logical design of databases, access methods, metadata presentation, etc.

• Details all aspects of functional designs, including record layouts, pseudo-code, detailed data mapping, etc.

• Provide governance over the production data environment and institute all required changes during implementation.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background is required.

• DBA Advisor requires 10 or more years of experience in database processing experience.

• Experience with database procedure development is required.

• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are required.

• Experience with SQL server 2005 or above is required.

• Experience with T-SQL is required.

Desired:

• Business knowledge, technical knowledge and knowledge of database administration techniques and database administration tools.

• Experience with Data Modeling tools.

• Experience in design and development of new and existing multi-tier online transactional systems.

• Experience with solving performance issues.
